My favorite informal pictures happened to all take place in the same zoo trip. It was cloudy, so the photos outside had little shadow and turned out great. I tried to take pictures while they weren't looking to capture a feeling like it was very natural. I feel like i achieved this throughout these photos, with the exception of a few that I had them set up. I really enjoy spending time at the zoo so i feel like these photos show a little bit of my own, as well as the people in the photos personalities.
For my formal portraits model, I chose my sister. I was comfortable taking pictures of her rather than a stranger, so it made the entire experience easier. Coming in to the studio, My ideas were to Keep the lighting bright, so the photos could have a fun/bubbly feel to them. As the photoshoot went on I ended up liking the black background better than the white. Some things during the photos went better than others. I really like the poses that we did for the photos, it fit the feeling that I was trying to achieve very well. I feel like i could have experimented with the lighting a little bit more than I did, because most of the time the lighting was constant. Overall, I really enjoyed taking the formal portraits and having my sister come in for pictures was an awesome a super fun experience
Taking selfies can be a lot more difficult than just holding an iphone and smiling. Finding the right angle and pose for a selfie can be challenging, but the finished products of these selfies turned out better than I could have hoped.
When I first heard that we would have to take pictures of strangers, it was a little nerve wracking. I don't like talking to strangers, but taking pictures of them was not as bad as I expected. Taking of these pictures of people while they weren't prepared for a photo, was a new and fun experience.
