Throughout the semester we explored many units. We explored Portraits, Landscapes, Still Lifes, Motion photography, and low light photography. These photos are the twenty best of all of the units combined. I think these photos show the overall bredth of my capabilities as a photographer. I tried to include at least a few photos from every unit, and make sure they are the best quality. While taking these photos I only shot on manual mode. This was definitely a challenge to figure out what settings I needed to be using, but it made me a better photographer over time, and I feel more comfortable adjusting every setting, as I am more familiar with what they do. A common theme in my pictures that I take is the use of rule of thirds or macro photography. I think at least one of these are apparent in almost every photo in this portfolio. I tried to include the most variety in my photographs, but some of them look the same due to lack of traveling places to take pictures. Overall I think the top twenty pictures accurately show my ability as a photographer throughout all of the different units.
For my focus I chose architecture photography. I dont necessarily enjoy shooting architecture more than anything else, but it is something that I am drawn to if I am in an interesting place. There are many cool architectural buildings throughout omaha and other places that make for interesting photographs, and that draw my attention. I like shooting architecture as It gives me the ability to take something that may be ordinary and use different techniques to make an interesting photo, like macro or low light. I believe that these pictures of architecture show the best of my photos in that area, and show the best of my abilities.
