Shooting books for my formal still life was a challenge. Books can be very square and boring, so I tried to come up with compositions and angles that would make the books look more interesting. I think I achieved this by utilizing rule of thirds, black and white, and focusing on small parts of the book, rather than the entire thing. Throughout the shooting, I came up with better ways to show originality in the pictures, and I think that they ended up exactly how I wanted them to.

i like the first with the pages opened up and the one with the stacked harry potter books. the angles that you took your pictures look really cool. and the lighting looks good!

I really like the picture where the pages are turning because the lines give the picture a really cool effect. And the black background is a nice touch and gives the picture more depth and kind of intensifies it in a way.

I really like the use of books as your object. the black background makes the white pages of the books stand out really well. I really like the image with the pages fanned out.

I love how you were able to capture moving pages. The edges are leading lines that draw your eyes to the book binding. It looks very Tumblr.
